Prompted by some in depth evaluation and consultation over the past 6 months, the Board of Directors of Three Springs have collectively decided to make some major changes to our offerings of summer residential camps.
Grow Zone, Breakaway, and Progress - structured as a “typical residential camp experiences” will no longer be offered, effective this summer, 2020. This decision was reached due to declining numbers of participation in these 3 camps over the past several years. There comes a threshold of “critical mass” where a certain number of participants becomes critical in making a week “do-able.” It has always been our desire to make adjustments and be willing to change as youth culture changes, and we believe these changes represent just that....opening some new chapters of ministry through other avenues.
There are still many wonderful camp experiences including:
Expanded Horse Camp Offerings – (Grow Zone-age “Trailblazers,” and Breakaway-age coed horse camps and gender-specific weeks). Check out the expanded horse camp offerings!
Breakaway Adventure Week
July 5-10, 2020 – Co-Ed Entering 7th grade through 9th grade
While residing at the Three Springs property or wilderness cabin, this small-group event (12 campers) will introduce students to several “adventure-type” experiences; rock climbing, back packing, mountain biking, and canoeing. Students will enjoy the BEST of the north central Pennsylvania woods and water, while spending intentional times in God's Word!
Progress 2020 Missions Trip/Road Trip
“Taking the Progress experience to a whole new level!”
July 11-21, 2020 – Entering 10th grade through graduating seniors
SERVE – WORSHIP - TRAVEL – LIVE IN COMMUNITY - GROW
Designed to provide a uniquely “adventurous and memorable” time, this 11-day experience will begin at Three Springs, Saturday morning, July 11. Departing on our Three Springs motor coach bus, we will drive across the country in less than two days to Window Rock AZ; the capital of the great Navajo Nation.
While in the Window Rock area for five days, we will be residing at Across Nations, a ministry which has been serving the Navajo people for 80 years.
SELFLESS SERVING is a large focus of this experience, and as we serve disabled veterans and the elderly by doing work on their homes, we will more importantly be building friendships and learning from a culture of people VERY different from our own! Daily rhythms and schedules will include times of worship, personal journal time, and teaching/learning in God's Word.
By day eight we will depart the “high desert” of northeastern Arizona and travel into southwest Colorado, where we will do some day hikes, visit hot springs, and camp two nights near Ouray...America's “Little Switzerland!”
By day ten we will pack up camp and drive the famous “Million Dollar Highway,” known as one of the ten most scenic drives in the ENTIRE WORLD! Breath-taking views will cause amazement and marvel of our Creator's majesty!
Arriving in Albuquerque NM by evening of day ten, we will spend our last night near the airport before FLYING back to PA, arriving in Philadelphia day 11, Tuesday July 21. (Specific time of the flight yet-to-be-determined).
Due to the nature of this trip, there will be an application process. Space is limited to 20 participants, so DON'T delay!
(In order to complete the application you must submit all information as required by TSA for air travel; Full name as it appears on photo ID, date of birth, gender.)
