For those riders who want to go deeper into horsemanship, we have programmed levels that you/your child will work up through. This entails everything about basic horse handling, grooming, saddling, riding, training, and aftercare. Our lesson program is designed to develop well-rounded horsemen and women. To clarify, we are not a competition-focused barn. Instead, our trained staff desire to help create a safe learning environment for students to feel seen and understood by their Creator, along with learning to trust their horse and other people. We strive to bring up capable riders and enjoyable trail horses.
Group and Private Lessons available - please pay attention to age group specifics in the registration tab.
There are two main teachers for all age groups, Emma Brandenburg and Scott Ekins. Numerous high school volunteers work as assistants and are equipped to teach the littles one-on-one as well.

Morning Mustangs
Jr. Wrangler School
For high school students (ages 14+), who are comfortable with walking, trotting, and loping, and looking to advance their horsemanship skills. This program is aimed at developing and instructing younger minds in order to equip them to one day work here at Three Springs Ministries as a Wrangler in the summer camp season. This entails not only going on all the trails and remembering them, but trail and arena safety concerns, how to lead trail rides and teach lessons, how to spark conversation with people, where to step in and take action vs where to let the child problem solve, etc. This program also has a ground class time section, where the scientific side of studying the horses themselves comes into play, with anatomy and physiology lessons, digestive lessons, genetic lessons, etc. We also make it a point to go on a “field trip” to the Horse World Expo in Harrisburg in February.
Volunteer hours will be a major part of the program, meaning that volunteer clearances will need to be turned in.
