Job Title: Assistant Program Director. (APD)

Reports To: Program Director, (PD) Guest Services Director (GSD)

Job Overview: This position is responsible for additional programming and hosting. This entails but is not limited to: Preparing TSM before retreats, (ie lights on, windows open in summer, rooms ready, etc.) ensuring systems are running smoothly, (ie replacing light bulbs, informing maintenance staff of larger issues, etc.) greeting groups when they arrive, acting as a contact person for group leaders during the retreat, helping groups set up, tear down, ensuring their retreat runs smoothly and without distractions.

Responsibilities and Duties: Expectations are a 40hr work week. Depending on groups and the rhythms of camp life, this may exceed 40hrs some weeks, or be less than 40 other weeks. Due to the frequency of weekend retreats, the APD will be expected to work weekends when necessary. When this is necessary, “weekends'' can be taken on weekdays if applicable. The APD is expected to be in close communication with the PD to understand the schedule, what is needed from the group and weekly responsibilities of the APD. 

Attitude and Conduct Expectations: The APD role is important because as a host, they are acting as the “face” of TSM. Thus greater responsibility is laid on this role to present themselves with grace and joy to not only the guests but staff as well. An attitude of constant servanthood, dying to oneself, putting others first and gentle patience is expected of this role. Frustrations and discontentment should be expressed to the PD and other managerial roles, but not communicated to groups or other staff. In an effort to further TSM’s mission of providing radical welcome and hospitality, as well as maintaining staff morale and relationships, issues shall be communicated to TSM leadership first in order to address it in a wise and Biblical manner.

Job Title: Housekeeping & Kitchen Staff

Reports To: Head Cook, Head Housekeeper

Job Overview: Responsible for assistance in the kitchen, preparing, serving and cleaning at meals for retreat groups, as well as Summer camp. Additionally responsible for preparing buildings for retreats, cleaning, vacuuming, making beds, washing and putting away bedding/towels, etc. Ensuring the buildings are clean, ready and hospitable for when guests arrive. 

Responsibilities and Duties: Flipping Mansion, Bunkhouses, Meeting Barn and Rush in between groups. Preparing, serving and cleaning up after meals as needed.

Attitude and Conduct Expectations: Servants' hearts. Much of this job is undetected by guests and can feel unappreciated. Crucial to this role is a willingness to work in anonymity, work hard with strong personal initiative and be available to flip the property in a timely, efficient, and professional manner. 

Position Goals: To provide guests with quality food and clean, beautiful space, free of distractions and worries in order to Gather, Rest and Delight in God. 

Qualifications and Experience: Proficiency with cleaning, housekeeping, cooking or working in a kitchen is preferred.

Job Title: Summer Grounds Assistant 

Reports To: Head Grounds Keeper

Job Overview: Responsible for general grounds keeping, hay work, as well as some Summer camp assistance. Ensuring the property is clean, ready and hospitable for when guests arrive.

Responsibilities and Duties: Upkeep of Three Springs Farm property. Lawn mowing, general landscape care. Additionally responsible for some gardening, wood splitting and cutting, assisting in barn and farm upkeep. 

Attitude and Conduct Expectations: Servants' hearts. Much of this job is undetected by guests and can feel unappreciated. Crucial to this role is a willingness to work in anonymity, work hard with strong personal initiative and be available to care for the property in a timely, efficient, and professional manner. 

Position Goals: To provide guests with a quality environment, clean and beautiful space, free of distractions and worries in order to Gather, Rest and Delight in God. 

Qualifications and Experience: Proficiency with lawn and garden and light farm equipment is preferred but not necessary.

Job Title: Wrangler

Reports To: Head Wrangler 

Responsibilities and Duties: 

  • Lead/Assist The Barn programs 

    • Lead Arena and/or Trail times for camp and retreat groups

    • Be Involved In or Lead Some Devotionals During Summer Camp (breakout groups)

      • Female Wranglers may be called into a support-counselor role during larger camp weeks. 

    • Give Private & Group Riding instruction

  • Horse Care / Health 

    • Assist with equine care  

    • Chores: hay, water, grain, picking stalls, barn cleanliness, dragging arena.

    • Care for minor equine injuries 

  • Horse Training 

    • Oversee your group of horses on training needs

    • Train on your rotation through our herd of 38 horses. 

  • Barn Cleanliness 

    • Stalls, Hallways, Arena, Tack Room

  • Maintaining a hospitable, safe, and clean environment at The Barn

  • Be involved in the leading of morning  & evening devotions (breakout groups)

Specifically our goal for this position is to be a big part in offering quality and safe equine programming. 

Qualifications and Experience: Most importantly we want you to have a desire to learn and grow. For this role, prior horse knowledge and experience is highly valued. This individual must also have strong people skills and be able to facilitate staff and programs.

Job Title: Summer counselor

Reports To: Head Counselor

Job Overview: Responsible for running horse camp schedule, direct leadership of campers in following said schedule and general needed tasks for safe and effective care of youth.  Additionally responsible for spiritual development of campers. Direct ministry is a powerful part of the camp experience, this position carries the primary responsibility of camp counselor to camper experience.

Responsibilities and Duties: Leading campers through the day to day schedule and ensuring the safety of their overall camp experience (physically, spiritually, mentally, and emotionally)

  • Activity Facilitation: Rockwall belaying, leading field games, creating and performing skits, pool time, etc. 

Attitude and Conduct Expectations: Servants' hearts. Much of this job is pouring out. Camp is taxing in all the ways that make up our being, physically, spiritually, mentally, and emotionally. Camp counselors have great opportunities of long lasting impact. This position takes grit in many of these categories.

Position Goals: To provide campers an experience and opportunities for spiritual growth and development free of distractions and worries in order to Gather, Rest and Delight in God. 

Qualifications and Experience: Prior experience working with children is preferred but not necessary. Must be comfortable or willing to be on and in close vicinity to horses.
